My last book is four years old and I’m contemplating writing another one this year to cover the areas I feel I missed. The central theme will remain the same in that I have always been trying to answer the question, what stops you, or anyone achieving the goal they want within health and fitness? I am fascinated about what separates one person from another.

When I discuss this with people the conversation inevitably ends up at saying it is about genetics, luck or just who that one person is born to be. I find that avenue so de-motivating and self-defeating. It is also contrary to the real world, which is full of people who have turned around their health, fitness or appearance. Most of these could easily have been described as total write off’s beforehand yet went on to achieve great results.

I think the fundamental issue below all of this is a lack of belief and understanding about how you can change as a person on the inside and create new behaviours on the outside. Whoever you are, you can change. You can teach an old dog new tricks so to speak. The process of behaviour change is never lost whatever age we may be, it is also quite fun and not as difficult as you imagine. However, you must first be open to the idea that there is no set in stone ‘You’. Rather, you are always evolving based on what inputs you are giving yourself. The reason most never change is that they do not really change the types of inputs, even when on a health drive, it is just the same or similar to what has come before.

The Grand Unified Theory I wrote about outlined the many different sources of inputs that you could need. While I covered in detail the mechanics of getting results, e.g. what exercise, foods, or movement you need to do to get results. The book mostly looked at everything that comes around this, what other factors do you need. This incorporates the way you handle stress, how to alter your automatic behaviours as well as ways to become consistently more motivated. This factors in other people and the environment you create around yourself which is another powerful way to create change. When you start applying some of these elements you will be surprised how results do happen.

What Does This Mean For You

This newsletter today is a simple reminder that you can change, that it is good to change and that it takes much less effort than you would believe IF you do the types of activities that create new behaviours. If you need help with this then message me with your goals and/or read my book>>> (or listen to the audiobook version).
