I was in Istanbul this weekend and was sorting through my You Tube playlists while waiting in the airport. The internet can drain your time watching aimless videos for hours, but it can also educate and transform your results in one or more areas of your life. Below is a selection of videos I found to be very helpful within health & fitness. 

Huberman – Understanding Addiction – Getting in shape is one part handling addictive habit patterns & behaviours around eating. This video sums up nicely the process involving dopamine and our negative patterns. Watch below (31 mins)

Pigmie – I Did a ” Dopamine Detox” for 7 days – While dopamine theory is all well and good, a short sharp behaviour change around your dopamine can be transformational. This process is outlined nicely in the video below (16 mins).

The Best Sleeping Positions For Less Back & Neck Pain – How you sleep at night has a big influence upon whether your injuries clear up soon rather than later. In this video he covers pillow and body positions for optimal posture and injury management. Watch below (14 mins)

A Tutorials for Diaphragmatic Breathing – We have discussed this a few times this year already, the importance of 3D breathing, how much of the advice out there does not cover it. This video breaks it down nicely (5 minutes).

Dr. Inigo San Millan – Describing Training Zones – I talked about Zone2 training in last week’s newsletter. The coach of Tour de France Champion Pogacar, he covers how he views energy systems and relates them to processes in the body. This is a nice 15 minute overview, compared to his usual 3 hour interviews. (16 mins)

STRIQFit – Every Calisthenics Skill to Learn in Order for your First Year – I started out the year doing one session a week from the exercises in this video. I was making quite nice progress after just 5 sessions before injury and Hyrox focus cut short my plan like a typical New Year Resoluter. If you fancy this sort of training then this video is an ideal starter (16 mins).
