The video below goes through an exercise you can do to wake up the lower stomach muscles. When you do this you will automatically have a flatter stomach and feel thinner. The lower stomach muscles are notorious for switching off as disturbances within the digestive tract (eating the wrong foods/ eating too much/ bloating etc) means the body stops using the core stomach muscles and instead uses other parts of the body to try to make up for it. This means you may be doing your planks or yoga classes but you are not actually targeting the lower stomach as the exercises are aimed to do. Follow the exercise in the video to wake up your sleeping stomach.
