Change Your Thinking - Change Your Shape -

Daily motivation Tips - Around the world in 80 days

One of the main reasons there is so much conflicting / false advice is a phenomenon called Biochemical Individuality. The term was coined by Dr Roger Williams who wrote the book of the same name in 1953. He reviewed thousands of medical studies which revealed that we are unique as human beings. His work showed how we may be similar in many respects but we are also greatly different at the same time.

This can be seen in the way we all have eyes, nose, ears etc. yet no one looks the same as you. Two people will have different strengths and weakness both in their mental ability e.g. mathematical versus arts and their physical abilities. The same thing applies to nutrition, do you notice how some people are always snacking and often feel hungry, yet others hardly ever feel hungry and can miss meals? Dr William’s work proved beyond a shadow of a doubt how we can have vastly different nutritional need from person to person. Not that our governments or society took this on board.

What this means in reality is because we are all very different there can be very few areas of advice that can be applied across the board to everyone. This is why there is some much conflicting advice in terms of how to lose weight, gain muscle, healthy living and getting into amazing shape. It is because a certain strategy may work very well for some people, who then promote it as the way forward based on their experience. This is fine, but it may not work for you. If the person promoting it is a fake thin person then their results may well have happened whatever their strategy, so caution is needed when considering any advice you have been given.

Mind body change exercise

  • How are you different to your friends and family? Think about your health and fitness requirements and skills as well as general life aspects.
  • How are you similar?
  • Begin to start observing how similar health and fitness inputs, e.g. food, exercise, gives different results for other people compared to you.
  • Start experimenting to find what works best for you.

Helping you Change your thinking and change your shape.
